Made-Well have been chosen by Waitrose for the Community Matters green token scheme for September 2016! If you shop in Waitrose and want to support Made-Well please put your tokens in our slot 😊.

Some information from Waitrose about the scheme...
'By placing a token in the Community Matters box at your local branch you’re helping your community. Since its launch in 2008, the scheme has donated £14 million to local charities chosen by you. At the end of your shop in branch, you’ll receive a token to place in a box of the good cause you’d most like to support. The more tokens a cause gets, the bigger the donation they receive. Each month every Waitrose branch donates £1,000 (£500 in Convenience shops) between 3 local good causes that you choose'

This has enabled us to create a dedicated horticulture site along with training facilities and kitchen, a shop and a cafe. As a result local people gain a better understanding and appreciation of food, healthy lifestyles and opportunities to purchase affordable home grown food.

Wear It Pink

On Friday the 21st of October Made-Well will be raising money for cancer research by taking part in Wear It Pink. Every year, wear it pink raises around £2 million during 'Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the UK's largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now. How? It's simple-people are asked to wear something pink and donate whatever they can. The money is used to fund world class breast cancer researchers across the U.K and Ireland.

Great reasons to wear it pink! Have fun with your family, friends and colleagues, it's an easy way to raise money to fund cutting edge research and you can help us ensure no one dies from breast cancer by 2050.

Made-Well will be running a cake sale amongst other things on the day to help raise funds for this fantastic cause!
